In 2023, we launched an SDG7 Global Youth Ambassador Programme to equip youth with the communication tools and platforms needed to enable and inspire their peers from their respective regions to support energy, climate and development efforts.
The programme focuses on:
- Refining the ability of young energy leaders to inspire and build youth movements around a just and equitable energy transition in underrepresented regions through effective and impactful communication.
- Providing access to high-level platforms for youth leaders for meaningful participation in policy dialogues.
- Increasing the number and geographic representation of youth who are working to raise awareness on the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition in their regions.
There are currently five Youth Ambassadors who represent Latin America, Africa, MENA, Southeast Asia, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
