Evaluating Government and Business Landscapes on Women's Empowerment in Sustainable Energy

This working paper is the result of a review and analysis of the existing data and evidence relating to women's empowerment across the global energy sector. It aims to support the advancement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all and SDG5 to achieve gender equality. The research concludes there are significant opportunities to enhance the policy framework to support women's empowerment in the energy sector, such as developing clear metrics of empowerment, including financial indicators.
