As you know, the world is not on track to meet SDG7 by 2030, and a renewed sense of urgency, as well as new approaches, are required. While overall African electrification rates have improved, the un-electrified population has remained largely static since 2010, and with the current trajectory, more than 500 million people in Africa are expected to remain without access to electricity in 2030.
