Media advisory: How to make the doubling energy efficiency pledge a reality beyond COP28
The Business Council for Sustainable Energy and partners of the Mission Efficiency initiative will outline what needs to happen next now that more than 123 countries at COP28 have pledged to double annual energy efficiency.
At the “Call to Action & Pledges to Double Energy Efficiency” press conference, energy efficiency experts from industry, government and finance will emphasize the need for consistent (and net-zero-aligned) language on energy efficiency throughout the final text at COP28, and a clear, unified political signal towards the common goal of doubling energy efficiency progress by 2030 among COP28 outcomes.
The press conference will also highlight the Mission Efficiency Call to Action and the growing number of pledges that demonstrate alignment and momentum among countries and industry on energy efficiency.
