Pierre Jaboyedoff

Pierre Jaboyedoff, a founding member and Associate at Effinart, a consulting company active in renewable in energy efficiency in building and industry. His experience ranges from passive housing up to large hospitals and watch industries. He was posted in India from 1981 until 1983 as an expat working at the development of solar thermal irrigation pumps in a CSIR (Council of Science and Industrial Research) in Gujarat. He represented Switzerland in some of the (IEA) International Energy Agency research projects.

He has been a consultant for the Swiss Agency for Development since 1992 in the small scale industry sector (brick kilns, foundry, glass industry, biomass power gasifiers). Since 2011 the leader of the Swiss Project Management Technical Unit of the Project BEEP (Building Energy Efficiency Project), a collaboration between the Swiss and the Indian Government (Ministry of power, Bureau of Energy Efficiency). He has been one of the leaders in the development of the first Energy Conservation Building Code for Residential building in India focusing on reducing heat gains through the building envelope (Eco Niwas Samhita 2018 ).  His main field of expertise is in building simulation, CFD and integrated design of buildings (passive design strategies, low energy HVAC).

He has a master degree of mechanical engineering from EPFL with special focus on energy and thermal engineering.
