Alan Miller
Alan Miller is a Senior Advisor to SEforALL’s Cooling for All Secretariat, and was the lead author of the “Chilling Prospects” report. Alan is an internationally recognized authority on climate finance and policy. His clients include UNDP, US AID, and SEforALL. In January 2014 he retired after 16 years working on climate change issues for the World Bank Group -- 10 years for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector lending arm of the Bank, and 6 years at the Global Environment Facility (GEF) managing approval of funding for climate change projects. Earlier in his career, Mr. Miller created and directed the Center for Global Change at the University of Maryland and served on the staffs of two leading NGOs, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). He has taught at 10 universities and is currently an adjunct professor at American University teaching business perspectives on climate change. His degrees are from Cornell University (A.B., 1971) and the University of Michigan (J.D. and M.P.P. 1974). He was a Fulbright Scholar in Australia (1977) and Japan (1987).
