UN Special Rep. on Sustainable Energy: Africa wants business, not charity

Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, newly appointed UN Special Representative for Sustainable Energy for All told press Wednesday at the New York Hilton that “Africa does not want charity. We want business.” Speaking at the Africa-America Institute Gala, Yumkella was one of three innovators recognized for their part in helping to bring prosperity to the African continent at a lavish celebration attended by African heads of state and leaders from the African-American community.
