Rising to the Global Energy Challenge
Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) are proud to, along with the World Bank Group, co-host "Rising to the Global Energy Challenge” – where the new Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy (RISE) report will be launched.
RISE is the first policy scorecard of its kind, and offers policymakers and investors the most detailed country-level insight yet into how we can level the playing field for renewable energy worldwide. The report assesses the investment climate in 111 countries in three key areas: energy access, energy efficiency and renewable energy. Overall, many countries are embracing the sustainable energy policy agenda, but more needs to be done if we are to reach ambitious global energy and climate goals.
After the report is presented, there will then be an interactive session that looks at what countries can do to create a favorable climate for public and private investment in the renewable energy sector. Following this, Rachel Kyte, CEO of Sustainable Energy for All and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All and, Riccardo Puliti, Senior Director and Head of Energy and Extractives at the World Bank, will be in conversation, with Lisa Friedman, Editor at ClimateWire, acting as moderator.
You can watch the event live on the SEforALL website or join in the conversation online by following the event hashtag, #EndEnergyPovery. More information, and key findings from the report, will be released during the event.
