Rachel Kyte named Dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University
Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is proud to announce that its CEO Rachel Kyte has today been named the 14th Dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and will be stepping down as CEO at the end of September.
Over the past 4 years, Rachel has been building on the work of SEforALL’s first CEO, Kandeh Yumkella, with SEforALL now a vibrant and growing international organization, with offices in Vienna and Washington, DC, and a presence in New York. With a strong leadership team and excellent and committed staff, the team is working to focus global attention and action on the critical path to success in realizing Sustainable Development Goal 7 and to helping countries and companies move along that path as quickly as possible.
This sharp focus has meant placing special emphasis on the policies and partnerships that can ensure we leave no one behind in energy transitions, and on the financing of clean, affordable and reliable energy for all. Rachel’s push to have the thermal economy more centrally addressed has also positioned SEforALL to address issues of equity in access to cooling on a warming planet.
Efficiency first, exploiting the revolution in renewables and closing the energy access gap quickly has been Rachel’s mantra and she will continue to support this pathway in her new role.
Over the next six months, Rachel’s priorities will be leading SEforALL’s work in supporting the UN Secretary-General in the energy track for the Climate Action Summit and on ensuring a smooth leadership transition for SEforALL.
The Administrative Board of SEforALL will be launching a global search process for the new CEO immediately and information on that search will be available here.
