SEforALL Official Statement – Vienna, 24 November 2020
Sustainable Energy for All Forum in Kigali rescheduled for 2022
Sustainable Energy for ALL (SEforALL) has made the decision to reschedule the SEforALL Forum in Kigali, Rwanda with a view towards holding an in-person Forum in 2022. This decision has been taken in consideration of the COVID-19 situation and is a result of in-depth discussions regarding the format and desired outcomes of the Forum with our host, the Government of Rwanda, the SEforALL Administrative Board and key partners.
In the meantime, SEforALL looks forward to opportunities with our partners throughout 2021 to drive action on SDG7, including through the High-Level Dialogue on Energy and COP26 and building momentum towards an in-person SEforALL Forum in Rwanda in 2022. Stay tuned for more information about the launch of an SEforALL global campaign and the first-ever SEforALL Virtual Youth Summit in February 2021.
The SEforALL Forum is recognized for providing a unique opportunity for the global community to come together to advance progress towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7). Networking, forming partnerships and impromptu dialogues are important aspects of the in-person Forum experience. With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to have an impact globally and expected to do so through much of 2021, most events will likely remain virtual. To ensure the full Forum experience, the SEforALL Forum will be rescheduled to take place in early 2022.
