As you prepare to attend the event, please be aware of the following COVID-19 rules and regulations.
Participants must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to access all Forum venues.
Special testing rules to attend opening ceremony on 17 May
The following applies to anyone planning to attend the opening ceremony/plenary on 17 May.
If you arrive in Kigali BEFORE 11:59pm Sunday 15 May
- You will be required to take an additional Covid PCR test on Monday 16 May 2022
- Location: Kigali Convention Centre
- Timing: Anytime between 8am - 4pm
- You will not be charged for the test
- You will need to take this test to attend the opening ceremony & plenary of the Forum
If you arrive in Kigali AFTER 11:59pm Sunday 15 May
- Ensure you have your negative test result for the PCR test you will take at the airport to attend the Forum
- You will need to take this test to attend the opening ceremony & plenary of the Forum
Badge collection for attending opening ceremony
If you plan to attend the opening ceremony/plenary, you are requested to collect your badge from the Kigali Convention Centre by Monday 16 May 2022.
Badge collection hours are:
- Sunday 15 May 2022 from 3pm - 11.30pm
- Monday 16 May 2022 from 9am - 11.30pm
Attending the opening ceremony on 17 May
- An additional rapid antigen test will be taken on arrival
- Please arrive at the Kigali Convention Centre between 7am & 8am
- You will enter the venue after the quick test. Arrival tea & coffee will be served and a networking session will take place before the opening ceremony & plenary.
COVID-19 regulations on travel to and from Rwanda
- All individuals entering Rwanda are required to complete a Passenger Locator Form prior to their arrival.
- Arriving passengers at Kigali International Airport must present a negative Rapid Test taken 72 hours prior to departure (meaning travelers must be tested and get results within 3 days of their first flight).
- There is a testing requirement upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport. A COVID-19 Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and Rapid Test will be taken upon arrival at the travelers’ own cost.
- Travelers will need to self-isolate (e.g. in their hotel room) until they get a negative test result (within a few hours).
- Departing passengers at Kigali International Airport must present a negative Rapid or PCR test (depending on requirement at destination) taken 72 hours prior to departure.
Please factor in the above-mentioned vaccine, testing and brief self-isolation requirements when planning your travel to the Forum.
Testing positive for COVID-19 in Kigali
If a traveler tests positive for COVID-19 with the Rapid Test carried out at the Kigali airport upon arrival, they will be required to isolate at a government-operated facility, at their own cost. They will be required to isolate at a government-operated hotel in case of mild symptoms, or a clinic in case of severe symptoms. Travellers will be required to undergo a second test after three days and will be allowed to leave the facility when they test negative.
