The Government of Austria and the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) are jointly organizing a High-Level Seminar: “Accelerating Sustainable Energy for All in Landlocked Developing Countries through Innovative Partnerships” in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL). The meeting will be held on 24 and 25 October 2016 in Conference Room C3, Vienna International Centre, Vienna, Austria.

The Meeting is being organized as part of the follow-up and implementation of the Vienna Programme of Action. It is also being held in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Climate Agreement. They call for universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy services for all. The meeting will review the progress towards sustainable energy for all in the Landlocked Developing Countries, the role played by multi-stakeholder partnerships, identify challenges and suggest areas where partnerships can be further strengthened.
