SEforALL unveils new strategy to speed delivery of affordable, clean energy for all

News

Sustainable Energy for All is shifting gear with a new five-year strategy that will drive action to deliver universal access to affordable, clean energy, following the landmark promises made last year by the global community.

The Strategic Framework for Results 2016-21, titled Going Further, Faster -- Together, marks a turning point, building on our strong advocacy role ahead of the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Agreement to embark on a new phase where the emphasis is on helping our partners to take rapid, tangible action on those agreements.

Our value proposition is that “Sustainable Energy for All empowers leaders to broker partnerships and unlock finance to achieve universal access to sustainable energy, as a contribution to a cleaner, just and prosperous world for all”.

The Strategic Framework has been strongly welcomed by SEforALL’s Advisory Board of high-level figures from the public and private sectors and civil society, co-chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim.

One key element of the new strategy is the development of ‘heat maps’ as a tool to help focus resources for maximum impact across our three objectives on energy access, energy efficiency and renewables.

While every country matters – and within them all regions, cities and communities – the heat maps will offer a framework for identifying places where most needs to be done, and those where successes could be replicated elsewhere.

The full text of our new strategy has now been published and is available here.
